OVERVIEW OF KHANH HOA
Khanh Hoa is a coastal province in southern Central Vietnam to the easternmost
protruding part of the country, adjoining Phu Yen province to the north, Ninh
Thuan province to the south, Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces to the west, and the
East Sea to the east.

Khanh Hoa is 1,280km from Ha Noi in the north, 448km from Ho Chi Minh City in
the south and 510km from Da Nang City in the north. and has Nha Trang City as
its economic, political, and cultural center. Khanh Hoa has a natural area of
5,197 km2 and a population of 1.1 million. Despite the modest area and
population, the province is specially favored by nature: an annual average
temperature of 270C; an annual average rainfall of 1,737mm; beautiful landscapes
with a coastline of more than 385 km, of which nearly 100 km are white sand
beaches, with many large peninsulas and bays, among which Nha Trang Bay is
acknowleged as the 29th member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the
World; Cam Ranh Bay with its world-famous strategic position; Van Phong Bay with
great potential in
developing future tourism… The province’s territorial waters include a whole
system of islands, especially Truong Sa island district with great significance
in terms of the economy and defense of the whole country.
Besides, Khanh Hoa gathers all the geographical features: a lot of inshore
islands, highlands, midlands, plains and rivers. Khanh Hoa can be seen as a
miniature of Vietnam.
Khanh Hoa has a fairly developed infrastructure, located on the North-South
national communication axis with National Highway No. 1A and the trans-Viet
railway linking the province with all provinces in the North and the South,
National highway No. 26 leading to Dak Lak and other Western Highlands
provinces. Khanh
Hoa has 6 seaports, in which 3 can shelter l0,000- 30,000 tonnage vessels, a
major railway station, 2 airports, especially Cam Ranh airport which can be
upgraded into an international airport, easing domestic and international
exchange. The province’s power line benefits from the national grid, meeting any
and every demand in electricity in investment. Communications facilities of the
province have reached high technological levels. Dam Mon peninsula is the
easternmost location of Vietnam with Van Phong, a wind-free and readily
accessible bay, providing the best shelter for vessels during
storms. The location is closest to the international maritime routes,
equidistant from such other transshipment ports in the regions as Singapore,
Manila, and Hong Kong. In the future, the site will become an international
container transshipment port with all the supportive sectors in service and
tourism. 42% of Khanh Hoa’s population constitutes the main working age group,
with 2.1% who are graduates from higher education institutions. The province is
home to 3 universities and colleges, 4 vocational schools, 3 national research
institutes and a developed system of job-training units of all kinds. The
general educational background and all these institutions shall be the source of
main human resources in the future development of the province.
With all its favorable natural conditions, an abundant workforce, and available
material bases, Khanh Hoa has been creating new opportunities and working out
new, open and active policies for domestic and foreign investors to enter joint
